The Argus Panoramic Night Vision Goggle (APNVG) is a panoramic night vision system designed to expand a user’s field of view from the traditional 40 degrees to a full 100 degrees without sacrificing resolution or collimation. The APNVG achieves this using four image intensifier tubes, delivering enhanced situational awareness while maintaining optical performance expected from professional-grade night vision equipment.
The two center tubes are aligned parallel and forward-facing to provide stereoscopic vision, depth perception, and improved perceived resolution. The outboard tubes on each side extend the user’s peripheral vision, resulting in three circular fields of view that merge into a wide panoramic image. This configuration allows users to detect movement and terrain changes with less head movement and faster visual acquisition.
Each APNVG is assembled and calibrated by ARGUS technicians using certified Hoffman Engineering ANV-126A equipment and custom panoramic collimation adapters. Devices are vacuum tested and nitrogen purged to ensure waterproof performance, and all units are fitted with hand-selected image intensifier tubes to maintain image consistency and seamless visual integration. The APNVG is powered via an external battery pack connected through a Fischer port, with an ARGUS Universal Strobe Battery Pack included in the combo set.
